Researchers help injured sea turtle swim again

Allison the sea turtle was found badly injured after a shark attack, with three of her flippers missing. Initially, a prosthetic flipper was designed in an attempt to enable her to swim normally:

After this failed, Allison was fitted with a "swimsuit" that has an attached fin. This appears to be a success, and she's now able to maneuver fairly well:

It's amazing to see what the researchers' minds have come up with to help this young turtle. How heartwarming it is that they didn't give up on her!

Yep, she's only 5 years old. Hopefully she now has a long life ahead of her. Although she'll have to spend it in captivity, she'll never have to worry about predators again.
