Thats one reason. Another reason is not too many people breed them because not too many people can afford them, you know supply and demand stuff.There are two breeders in So. Fla that I know of . I think Mike paid $1200.00 apiece for them. The Aldabras he has were $ 2000.oo a piece . He has two now but he is waiting for two more that are still too small to sell, as I said this dude has way too much $. lol.He inherided(spellilg?) $ when his parents were killed in a car wreck.

I wish I could afford to breed them, I think Mike is trying but they are still a little young for that.Mike has two Aldabras , three sulcatas, four Indian Stars ,Twelve Eastern Hermans, two Western Hermans, Eight Russian,six Golden Greeks, and a 100 pound wallet lol.He gave me his Box turtles thats how I got started. It doesn't cost anything to feed them because we get all the veggies fruits etc from Publix stores. He used to be 'friends' with the district Manager of Publix. They are still friends but . Mike gave me a cooler for the veggies and gave his neighbor a cooler-She breeds Sulcatas. And he has a large step in cooler. So food is free lol.
