| Thank you, guys! And you know I'll be a picture taking fool when she starts laying eggs. Then I'll be a basket case with the two month wait until they hatch. LOL | |

| Its 4 am and I just got home from work to find Maya curled around 3 big, beautiful eggs. She looks to have a few more to go, so I'll give her a few more hours and let ya'll know the final count. | |

| We have a grand total of six healthy, beautiful eggs! Both momma and babies are doing great! Our good momma gaurding her eggs The incubator is ready to go! She got a bit huffy, but she never got aggressive. And there they are! Can you believe how HUGE these things are? How on earth do they all fit?? Here they are, all snug in the HatchRite, ready to cook for the next two months. | |

| Yay! Good job, Maya! I hope you're taking a well deserved rest, pretty snakie.
They look just like turtle eggs, only a LOT bigger. Do you have to pick them up without turning them over, to keep from harming the embroyo? How long before you can tell if an egg is viable?
I can't wait to see hatching pics. All of us are now godparents, you know! | |

| Well poop... I'm sorry, guys! I lost track of this thread. I forgot to keep ya'll updated and answer your questions, Ginger. (Right now would be a great time to ask for a guilt present) While bp eggs are incredibly durable, just like other reptile eggs, they need to stay in one position. Within a couple weeks of the being laid, we could candle the eggs and see the veins running through them. So heres the update: At 62 days (two days after their due date) we pipped the eggs and laid a paper towel over them. We thought these little guys would never be born!!! This morning (day 68) we woke up to two sweet little faces, finally peeking out of the eggs at us. The other four should be following suit as the day wears on. I'll get pictures up this afternoon! | |

| Congratulations!! With all the turtles I've kept over the years, I've never had any babies. (I've been told that it's probably because my turtles don't hibernate.) I can only imagine how exciting it must be to get the first glimpse of a little face peering out of the egg. Can't wait to see pics of the newborns! | |

| Awww...they're so precious! Just look at that adorable little head! You did good, momma Maya! And nice job on the successful incubation, K. Are you going to keep them all or sell them? I don't think I'd be able to part with any of them after watching them hatch! | |

| We have quite a few people waiting patiently for one of these little ones. It is hard to let them go, but the people getting them are really wonderful folks that will treat them like the little miracles they are. An we're up to four little noses poking out. Two more to go! | |

| Yup! Pretty long and twisted story, but we have them now. The one gecko I tried and tried to save, but he had MBD so badly he was crippled and dying. The poor thing suffered for so long his little body just gave up on him. We may rehome the one boa, but he'll have to go to an experienced male handler as apparently he hates women. The female bp is fine, health wise, but shes going to need some rehabbing for her behavior. Its just from hunger and neglect, but I think she'll be alright once she feels better a she knows shes safe. The Ts are really no problem at all so we'll be keeping them. We have some plans in the works currently to expand to accomodate the animals. They all deserve a better life than they came from so we're really hoping everything goes as planned and they can spend the rest of their days fat and happy. | |

| It's so sad that there are people out there who look upon their animals as just objects, not living creatures with feelings. I hope the jerk that owned them gets what he deserves. Rescuing animals can be both heartbreaking and rewarding. Bless you, K, for making room in your home and your heart for these poor guys. I hope they'll thrive under your care. | |

| You might want to tap him with something safe and soft to make sure. Try moistening the substrate under its face, maybe it will be able to drink if its still with us, but not too much water. | |
