Two turtles were talking one day, when the one of the turtles (Turtle 1) turned to the other turtle (Turtle 2).
Turtle 1: Man, I saw this perfect spot for a picnic! It's just up that hill there, and around the corner... not too far at all. It's awesome, man! A great view of the city, a nice grassy area... we could get a cooler, fill it with some sandwiches and beer, bring a few blankets and chat it up! Ah, it's ideal!
Turtle 2: You say it's not too far away? Just up the hill and around the corner?
Turtle 1: Yeah, maybe a few blocks, at the most. I just passed it the other day... up the hill and around the corner.
The turtles decided they would meet up the next afternoon, head up to the "perfect spot" and make an evening of it.
The following day, the turtles meet up.
Turtle 1: Hey man! You bring the sandwhiches and beer?
Turtle 2: Yeah, got everything right here! You have the blankets... This cooler is a bit heavy, how far away is the spot? You sure you know where you're going?
Turtle 1: I've told you! Just up the hill and around the corner. Ah, I can already taste the beer, let's go!
So the turtles start going... going... They walk up the hill, around the corner. And there's the perfect spot, just like Turtle 1 said it was. A perfect view of the city, a nice quiet grassy area... they spread out the blanket, and open the cooler, get out their sandwiches...
Turtle 1: Man, I thought I told you to bring some beer! Where's the beer?!
Turtle 2: Shoot, man, I thought I packed it. We need beer... it's not the same without it.
Turtle 1: No, we can't have a picnic without the beer... that's one of the best parts. You go back and get it.
Turtle 2: No way, man. You'll eat all the sandwiches while I'm gone. Yeah, right, you go get it.
Turtle 1: I promise, I won't eat the sandwiches until you get back. Go get the beer, I'll wait here. The picnic is ruined without the beer.
Turtle 2: Yeah, right. You'll totally eat the sandwiches.
Turtle 1: No, I won't, here, I'm closing the cooler. I won't eat the sandwiches. They don't taste good without the beer anyway.
Turtle 2 finally is convinced and walks off to go get the beer. Several minutes go by, Turtle 1, is just sitting around enjoying the view.
A half hour goes by. Turtle 1 looks at his watch. It shouldn't be talking Turtle 2 that long. It's only down the hill and just around the corner. Where is he?
Then an hour and two hours go by.
Turtle 1, stares down the road, and then at his watch. It's been three hours! And still no sign of Turtle 2!
Shaking his head, Turtle 1, looks down the road one more time, and then opens the cooler. He grabs a sandwich, unwraps it. His stomach growls. He takes a bite.
Just at that moment, Turtle 2 jumps out from behind a rock.
Turtle 2: Ha, I knew it! I just knew it!
