Been a while since any new pics of the kids were done, so I figured what the heck.
We have a "playpen" out on the back porch for the BTS. Well, its been really rainy lately and storms really freak the skink out, so when Joe came outside with me, he wanted to check it out. Definitely not a place we'd leave him unsupervised. While it takes him a while for his round self to get upright, he could scale the sides pretty easily.

Tom - Joe is a Savannah Monitor, he's 3 years old, and spoiled absolutely rotten!
They are a stocky bodied species, but he's a leetle bit on the chunky side. (Okay, quite a bit on the chunky side)
We have him on a pretty strict diet, but both him and our other monitor know they can mooch food from my Mom any time she's in the kitchen. Being monitors, they eat pretty darn near anything. LOL
Its funny you should comment on his tongue. Tim said pretty much the same thing. LMAO!
And, yes, he gets monthly manicures. You should see those talons of his when they're NOT trimmed! My GOD!!

Do they bite? I mean what is theur dispossition, ie agressive ? How much do you think the Phatt dude weighs study

He and Rocko both are very capable of biting. They both have completely destroyed pairs of sneakers with those mouths full of serrated teeth. Thankfully, though, with the way these boys were raised, unless we do something incredibly stupid, they're not inclined to bite.
Disposition wise, monitors can be quite the handful. The good part is, though, they're INCREDIBLY smart and can learn quickly that they "catch more flies with honey than vinegar." LOL
Joe weighs 12 pounds and Rocko weighs in at just under 14 pounds. (Rock has lost almost 2 pounds! YAY!) They're both about 3 and a half feet long.

Haha, Joe looks like a little old man (OK, a little old man with a beer belly) looking over the side of the playpen. There's a lotta personality in that face!
And yep, his tongue puts Gene Simmons' to shame! tongue

Well... Its not nearly that cute when he's snuggled up taking a nap with me and wakes up. That tongue is like getting a frontal lobe lobotomy. All because he wants me to open my eyes, 'cause he's just not sure the monkey is in there if the eyes are closed. LO(L
