Just not into it this year

Well, here it is, the middle of December, and I still haven't put one bit of Christmas decorations up or bought one present. Our oldest son and his family moved to NC earlier this year, so no grandsons to spoil rotten. Finances are still pretty tight and now I've been "voluntold" to work Christmas day.

I just can't seem to find any Christmas spirit.

Anyone else been hit by the "Hum bug" this year?

you know i was all into to it but now with family members acting like butts im kinda like bahhhhhhhhhh hum bug we allready got gifts an such witch isnt much but im tired of every year it being the same crap over and over on the fights and fussing about who is doing what or so on an im just sick of it all so i think it may just be me and fox this year im done being nice all the time to family members then haven ppl tick me off so im not going to worry about it anymore just going to worry about fox and i . they say blood is thicker then water but the trueth is waters thicker then your own blood becouse in the end water cares more then blood

Christmas really is a bunch of crap when it comes down to it. I mean, honestly, watch the traffic, the greed, stress, and for what? A day we are told we need to do or we're a scrooge and we're evil. I skip it, I skip it for a reason. Come Christmas day, I'm grabbing a bowl of Warm Cereal and watching a movie LOL

Now that sounds like a great idea, Stalker.
I think, if work allows, I'll do a repeat of Thanksgiving and cook a nice meal for my family and just enjoy thier company.

Now yall are talking,We don't do Christmas--or as little as we can.I think Birthdays are the best. Thats what I look forward too after all its your day not the rest of the worlds day. So Christmas is not my fav.

I think I see too much in these special days, but with birthdays, it seems to me that its one day a year where you're special. I seriously throw all these days out and focus on being good to people all year long. I don't think that sounds like me as you all know me, but that's it in a nutshell. I'm a goofball and a joker, and I'm not always certain how people see me, but I do my best to be the good person when I'm needed.
Case in point. At work, we were banned from drinking coffee due to one of the workers always complaining about one gal abusing her coffee drinking rather than working. I'm now spending $24 on a bag of chocolate covered espresso beans for the whole morning crew. I'm not waiting for a special day, I'm doing it when its needed, now, and I'm not expecting anything back. That's how I roll. Now that I just burst everyone's bubble, call me a goodie two shoes LOL!
Holidays are really important because TV tells us we have to be into them. Watch some specials, and think about it. Hallmark really feeds us with this as well, somehow we're cold and heartless if we're not spending everything we have on people during these times. The result? Suicide rates climb, alot of people get sweaters they don't like from people that don't normally care, and January is a month of people that are not very nice anymore. Again, just my take, sorry for the soapbox, just think we should always focus on being neighborly.

yeah christmas just isnt what it used to be now its all about greed and who can spend the most money when the trueth is its not what you get its the thought that counts better to give then reseve who cares about the money and i wasnt raised to be worried about who gets the most costlyest stuff bell when i grew up we made things and gave each other what we made even if it was just a peice of paper we colored but now adays its all about greed money and who can out do who so i think this year i will just fix fox an i dinner and be lazy this year and just be thankful for what i got
