| Maya Kali Eve (not as clear of a shot as I would like. ) Sylvia is in a blue now, so I'll try getting a shot of her when shes all done. :D We just had a good drop in temperature here over night, so today will be spent wrapping heat cable around big tanks and monitoring thermostats. | |

| Does this mean that your girls are gravid? How can you tell? (They do lay eggs, don't they? I know some species of snakes have live young.) I know all about turtle reproduction, but haven't a clue when it comes to snakes! | |

| Well, they're half way there. As long as we can keep their temps right and watch for when the boys loose interest, we'll have four gravid ladies! The boas have live and the pythons lay eggs. I must have taken a hundred pictures of those animals, trying to capture how "fat" they are, but the camera just wouldn't cooperate. *dangit* You can't really tell from the picture, but Eve is just shy of 16 inches around right now. | |

| Can I borrow your camera? I've been looking for one that makes me look thinner than I am, LOL!
So the male's mating efforts stop when the female becomes gravid? Do you keep the "couples" together until that happens?

| I know, right? I've always heard the camera adds 10 pounds, so I gotta wonder how many freaking cameras are pointed at me? 5? 12? lol
The males will loose interest in the females once they're "caught." Loafs around on the other side of the cage. Won't get a job. Won't take her calls. Denies he's "da babies' daddy." Typical Jerry Springer stuff.
We'll take the males out then, feed them and start the count down for babies!
