Pairing up for season

Well, we got three "couples" put together for breeding season.
Eve and Odin (BCIxBCO and BCI het Albino)
Sylvia and Loki (BCI and BCI High Pink)
Maya and Osiris (Ball pythons)

As soon as Eve entered the enclosure, Odin was interested. He's wasting no time this year getting the job done.

Loki has acknowledged theres another snake in his enclosure, but I don't think he realizes its a girl. He still hasn't come out of the waterdish.

We moved Maya and Osiris into a large 40 gallon breeder tank and shes checking out the new surroundings. Osiris is following her like a love sick puppy.

After loosing two girls last year, I'm a bit apprehensive (to say the least) about breeding boas again, but boas are hubby's shtick and he's been looking forward to this season. These girls are well seasoned and everything has gone well for them in the past (health wise), so hopefully everything will work out well. Eve produced beautiful babies two seasons ago. She didn't produce anything last year, but I blame that on the late start and an inexperienced male. Sylvia is the one that produces the slugs, so hopefully, Loki will crawl out of the bath tub long enough to do his "man-duties."

Hopefully, I can update ya'll in a month with some ovulations! *fingers crossed*

Theres been alot of movement and paper moving in the tank with Eve and Odin. Hopefully this is a good sign and shes not ... well... eating him... or something...

Got woke up by Jake at 6 am to find Sylvia on the back of the kitchen sink and Loki no where to be found.
Can someone tell me how two creatures, with no hands, can open a sliding glass door that takes me two hands to move??

they use there face ive seen a snake do that they mash there face in the slideing door and push
and being that snakes are all mussel they got the power to do things ppl wouldnt think possable


i hope ya find them sneaky snakes lol there smarter then ppl think at getting out of things and hiding lol

Sylvia and Loki, though... well... not so much. *sigh* this is going to be a loooooonngg breeding season.

The picture of Osiris and Maya with their tails intertwined looks kinda romantic; I can almost hear Barry White singing in the background. But Odin doesn't seem to care about romance, he just wants to get it on. (typical male, LOL!)

Where did you find Loki after he and Sylvia escaped? I gather that individual snakes have "chemistry" with some, while there's not much attraction to others. I've observed this with my turtles. I guess they're kinda like people in that respect.

Oh some of these males are SO romantic. Its sweet. It was definitely a Barry White moment with Maya and Osiris. More like AC/DC You shook me all night long for Odin and Eve, though. LOL

We didn't see where he came out of, but we found Loki trying to crawl into the piano. (That could have proved interesting)
