looks like im going to be picking up a new turtle more like a resque one think its a 2 or 3 inch boxie not sure til i go get it so when i find out more i will post more and with pics all i know is the turtle was going to be thrown in the trash and tossed like an old shoe crap like that just gets under my skin whats wrong with ppl and from my understanding this baby turtle also has ben bit by something in the leg so i dont know how bad the wounds are or if the turtle will even live from the injury such a sad way to have to go its just a growing baby turtle its so sad so many ppl cant have common sense in this world and think it isnt a living creature yet to think its just a old toy toss it in the trash its not a breathing thing any way as soon as i pick the little one up i will let everyone know how it is and such poor baby

You know, individually, most folks are alright, but as a whole, humans just muck. I can't believe we became this evolved to behave that stupidly.

i will let everyone know when i pick up this baby this week hes in good hands right now my fatherinlaw saved him from the trash can he was in the right place at the right time to save this little kid

at this point i dont know whats up im fearing for the worst on this turtle becouse ive ben told it trys to eat but then the worm comes out the side front leg and shell im asuming at this point a dog or rat has got ahold of this turtle and no telling if its going to live at all its injurys could be life threating but there isnt much anyone can do if its got inturnal problems you cant fix crushed orgains

Oh that poor baby. I know you'll do every thing you can. I hope the people that had him/her get exactly whats coming to them. And if its what I think they deserve, all the better.

personaly i think that they should be in jail for being such cold hearted ppl thats animal cruelity

the baby wont make it the food is comming out the side

Oh that poor, poor little baby. Thank you for trying to save him. I hope those SOBs rot for what they did to that poor baby.

well i tell ya i can only hope it heals closed on its own becouse its such a tiny turtle no way to repair its insides and with the food comming out the side of its flesh after it eats i dont know if it will live at all if it does it will be a huge shock it keeps trying to follow me around when it sees me i have the tank set up on the bar and so it sees in the living room and kitchen it runs around like nothings wrong and it eats and eats but no foods stayen in so i just dont know whats going to happen all i can do is make it comfy and watch and see i will keep offering food and water and try to keep its side clean the wound is all down the side so its got nothing to hold its self together on one side and then the hole witch i cant see in its not bleeding but its fleshy

OMG, that breaks my heart! When I read something like this, I can't get it out of my mind. I know you'll do everything possible for that little baby. I'm going to pray for a miracle that it pulls through.

if this little baby makes it thats going to be its name miracle its such a cutie to and its no where near afread of me runs right up to the glass if i go near i had to put a towel over the front so it would calm down and stop trying to follow me around poor baby its a waiting game now its going to be up to the little one and so far its a fighter but will see what happens

Hows the little one this morning?

well its kinda slugish this morning and i cleaned the area looks like the hole might just be closing up more shell peices fell off but it was allready hanging and dead the flesh isnt as in flamed today and we made a gaze wrap today around the shell tho it wasnt easy the shell on the one side is mostly gone and hard to cover all the areas but we got it i dont think the little one likes its body suit at all it still has trouble walking on the one side and so its abit slower now it seemed to want to eat but got scared when its toes got caught in the gaze and we had to trim some of the gaze now its just sitting in one spot doing nothing but watching or sleeping maybe when it doesnt feel so threatened and gets used to its suit it will eat later

im tryen seems now its trying to move around abit more and it tryed eating a tiny bite of worm and so far its now under the paper towel hiding lol

With a wound that severe, there's a risk of infection. I know you've had enough experience to know what to watch for and how to handle it. The little one is in good hands with you!

I can't get him off my mind. I shouldn't read things like this; it upsets me too much. But now that I know about him, I have to keep checking back to see how he's doing.

thanks hes/she kinda down and not eating much i offered baby food and small peices of tomatoe and some worms but its kinda just looking at it like whats this and well like all babys in walked thru it makeing a mess sitting in it and smelling it im hopen it eats something tonight i got a uvb light on it so maybe the heat will help boost its appatight

im doing all i can today it tryed to eat but it just couldnt it was more thirsty then anything so i have it drinking a multi vitamin to help and it had a long soak today and enjoyed that alot

well it is and today it also tryed to bite me lol so its got tude and thats a good thing

very very good news baby ate a worm today plus it tryed some crushed turtle food pellets and it didnt come out the side its ben rather bouncy today and full of pet the wounds look so much better healing nicely from the out side and it pooed and peed so i know its ok in that area and its ben drinking lots of vitamin water and playing in the water lol

welp bad news again the hole opened back up and again the worm come out the side i think becouse its bouncing around so much the wound open up again so i packed more neosporin in the hole area and from the looks not all the food come out only a small peice and i know when it drinks water thats not comming out the hole so back to the drawing board this little buggers a fighter i give it that and ive looked up alot of info on turtles with worse wounds then this and they have lived so will see what happens im going to keep watch of this kid now for awhile til the wound seals up again

The fact that the little guy pooped and peed shows that some of the food he's eating is making it through his system, so he's getting some nutrition. It's good that he's drinking because they can go a while without eating, but they have to stay hydrated.

You're doing a terrific job with him! I know it must get discouraging at times, but I'm glad you're not giving up!

I'm so glad to hear he's still going. And now to hear he's actually holding down food is nothing short of amazing.

thanks you two its just so hard becouse this little tater munch is so dang cute and its hard not to get attached id be lying if i said i wasnt but dang it this little kids so sweet and cute those big eyes and little toes its just to cute its hard not to fall in love lol

sadly to say but i honestly think the baby turtle is dying its fighting but the hole is now opened up fully and i can see in its stomic and pancreases are damaged to badly and the little turtle just doesnt have the straigth even tho its fighting theres nothing anyone can do its eyes are starting to slowly glaze i dont know how much longer its going to keep fighting ive ofered it food today and it refused so i gave it a cod liver oil bath in luke warm water and it tryed to perk up but its so weak it just dont move much at all

Oh no! You hadn't posted any updates in the last few days, and I was hoping that no news was good news. I'm so sorry to hear that this isn't the case. Although you're doing everything you can, you've been fighting insurmountable odds. My heart goes out to you and the llittle one...poor baby.

i gave it a little blankie to lay on and its barely moved at all at this point im just trying to make it comfy and let it pass peice fully im keeping the heat on it for now and keeping water in the cage and just trying to make it as comfy as i can

It makes you feel so helpless to watch one of them die and not be able to do anything. I've held three of my turtles as they passed away, and it tore my heart out each time. I feel so badly for you...you tried so hard to save this baby. No one could have done any better.

I'm very sorry, Sherry. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that you did all you could. At least the baby didn't die alone and cold, in a trash can. In her short life, she knew what it was like to be loved. May her little soul rest in peace.
